Daily Oracle

Wildlife experts call the Mountain Lion the perfect predator. Their territory spans hundreds of miles, they can kill their prey in an instant with a swift crunch on the back of the neck.

Recently, a mountain lion named P-22 has achieved celebrity status as he prowls through Los Angeles’ Griffith Park and is occasionally caught there on camera. Legend has it he ate a koala that escaped from the zoo.

You might feel like an errant mountain lion about now. Meant to run free and be your big, bad ass mountain lion self – yet trapped in a city park with a freeway on either side, surrounded by joggers and aspiring actresses, the last of your kind howling for a mate that can never come, the subject of city council debates about whether or not you should be “disposed of for public safety.”

But remember, you are wild and you are fierce.

You are a rare beast of great beauty and power.

The world may not get you, it may feel foreign and ugly, but you are a wanderer. Resourceful. Full of grace.

Be persistent.

Recognize that the thing that makes you scary to this crazy world is also the thing that gives you your power. Stay with it.

And remember, P-22 also has a lot of fans. I’m one for sure — of both of you!
